Published on September 12, 2008 By jamreal In PC Gaming

Hello again well today i'm asking the question what should the GamesforWindows software thats due out in a few months be called? So far they have.

Games for Windows - LIVE Dashboard

Games for Windows - LIVE Portal

Games for Windows - LIVE Marketplace

Games for Windows - LIVE Guide

Games for Windows - LIVE Client

No name, just call it “Games for Windows - LIVE”

I personally dont agree with the names or should i say i dont like the Games For windows part of it, its just too much to say about a bloody software i mean look at Valve Steam its just call STEAM Stardock its just called Impulse. i think they should call it Live Portal you can vote for you fav name http://surv.cheetahmail.com/s?n=161&aid=1105933598&o=1

I don't really know what MS is planing to do with it? - Is it supposed to be something like Impulse or STEAM? - Or should it be something better a mix of these above combined with the usability of the BattleNet? - I think I have missed something in the last weeks/months.

Relic said that they will use GoW - Live for Dawn of War II for free as a support for the multiplayer-mode, while all other games want money for it. All I know is that I haven't understand anything of these word.

Microsofts attempt to bridge PC and Xbox360 gaming to lure more developers to their side. Just look at the packaging similarities. Too bad they don't spend half as much time developing a gaming API that works _directly_

I'm pretty sure you don't have to pay for Windows Live anymore.

I think they should drop the "Games for Windows - LIVE" crap and just name it something good-sounding.  What are you supposed to call it when you talk about it now, "GoWL"?  All the names are too generic to just call it "Client" or "Guide".

How about NGGP (Next Gerenation Gaming Pattform) *hahaha*

Well, I don't know what I should think about it, some of these new features sound like somehting that BattleNet, Gamespy (yes, even if it sucks) or RelicOnline already have.
