I just played Mirror's Edge demo this morning.. I didn't think I'd like it, but it actually plays pretty good. There's something that sucks you in once you get going on those rooftops

Prince of Persia looks interesting too, especially the combat system, so I'm looking forward to trying it out when there's hopefully a demo.

After playing through the story part of Mirror's Edge several times, I wish I had the money to pre-order it so I could play the time trial mode. Anyone got the time trial code and don't want to use it? (Is that piracy? Using someone else's code to unlock content in a demo if they willingly give it to you?)

WTF they made you preorder to get time trial? Thats gay.

Yes they did, and indeed that is gay. Time trial is what's going to make the game replayable. So it should be something that's included in the demo. That's like making the SINS demo let you play, but only as one faction, with only a few ships selectable.

Of the OPs list, I'll certainly play the following since I'm an intelligent PC gamer:

  • FarCry 2
  • Fallout 3
  • Red Alert 3
  • Sacred 2
  • GTA4

Waiting for the following with even greater anticipation:

  • Dawn of War 2
  • StarCraft 2
  • Disciples 3
  • Majesty 2

Seems that's it for this winter.

Ah, they're finally making Majesty 2?  I loved that game.  Guess I'll have to make a point of picking that one up as well... assuming Paradox doesn't call the DRM fairy...

The Sins demo does only let you play as one faction-TEC.  I know this because it took me forever to get the demo installed and I played it for several days before buying the full version.  It doesn't limit the ships you're allowed to build, but all you get is 90 minutes of play time-per game, anyway.

From memory, GCII demos only let you play the first three game years, although I don't remember if there are any other restrictions.  (This is about 150 turns.)  While there are certainly players who could do a lot in that time frame, it also ought to be more than enough for someone to decide whether or not they want to buy the game.

I've never looked forward to a game as much as Left 4 Dead before.  After watching them videos they have just released for it I'm counting down the days.

Another Majesty 2 player here...

Thanks for clarifying. I didn't play the demo since I already had SINS (Day it was released, FTW!).

Left4Dead looks great, but I must admit to a greater degree of appreciation for the same general scenario in the one Zombie mode in Call Of Duty World At War. The gameplay videos show what to me is a more natural pace of shuffling & movement (fire & movement?) for zombies compared to that of Left4Dead. The latter features speed more akin to me of apocalyptic mutants rather than zombies, and its nice to see that such a trait seems to be working from a game balance perspective.

That mode alone might be what attracts me to CoD World At War... at least enough to buy it. I don`t like the ability to utilize foreign nation/faction weaponry, perks or not. Just doesn`t feel right, and it makes it more difficult to tell friend from foe. Zombie mode though... .

Oh come on, you can't watch this http://uk.gamespot.com/pc/action/left4dead/video/6200402/left-4-dead-official-movie-1?hd=1&tag=topslot;thumb;3 and tell me that you anticipate anything else more!

Just kidding, each to their own, I'm just really excited about the co-op side of things, I've always tried to get friends to do co-op games and they are all excited about this one too.
