None of the above.  Just Wrath of the Lich King.

Sims 3.  Dawn of War 2.  Maybe TC's Endwar (I'm pretty curious about this voice-command system), but I'll try it before I buy it.  Maybe the Neverwinter Nights 2 Storm of Zehir expansion, if Atari ever reinstates my CD Key for the original game (which was not used inappropriately, and their staff has been mum on the issue... DRM will be the death of my happiness).

Mirror's Edge looks interesting as well, though I'm generally more the RTS type.  And Definitely Get Your Hands On GTA IV.  It wins.

Maybe TC's Endwar (I'm pretty curious about this voice-command system), but I'll try it before I buy it.

There's a demo for EndWar on the 360 (PC version still unconfirmed, IIRC). It actually works surprisingly well. You have to calibrate it, but unless you're drunk it recognized your commands pretty damn well. It has a specific syntax you need to follow, like "Unit 1 attack hostile 2", though it also tries to be intelligent, I've said "Unit 1 attack 2" and it knew i meant hostile 2.

The major limitation is that it's restricted to the preset control points on the map, and you can't tell them to use their specials through voice comms. So move to/secure command points, attack is what it's limited to, but that's most of what you'll be doing anyway. Oh, and quickly calling in reinforcements/ordering retreat/off-map supports.

I've replayed the demo map several times just using voice comms and it actually plays really well.

Many of these would have been on my list, but are now off due to DRM issues, including:

Dead Space

Far Cry 2

Command and Conquer Red Alert 3

Mirror's Edge

However, Fallout 3 will be purchased tomorrow. After that, I'll be grabbing Storm of Zehir and (if the stars are all aligned), Mysteries of Westgate for NWN2.

NHL2K9 I've already bought for the Wii (it will be a Christmas gift for the kids).

I'm also looking at picking up Mount and Blade and The Witcher Enhanced Edition (I want the hard copy goodies).

*edit* Oh, and I picked up World of Goo a couple days ago. Well worth the purchase.

Rise of the Argonauts

This...for the ol' 360.

Not much else, really...gotta snag Fable II when I get out of school for a bit.

I'm looking forward to playing:

Dead Space

Left 4 Dead

Mirror's Edge

Fable 2

That's about it for me..Dead Space cause it's creepy and sci-fi, Mirror's Edge because I actually free-run and would love to do it virtually during the cold times, Fable 2 because Fable was awesome, and Left 4 Dead because ZOMBIES!! Zombies kick ass..just saying.

Dawn of War 2 looks very promising. I also want Red Alert 3, having played the second for years . But EA and this secROM of theirs... ive heard nothing but bad things about it and I don't want something like that in my computer.

I preordered Fallout 3 for Windows. Estimated ship date is November 3 by Amazon.com. I sort of fell in love with FO 1 and 2 as they are lots of fun.

Only looking forward to Sacred 2 on that list.  I do wanna get Valkyria Chronicles for my PS3 though.  That looks really good.  On the PC side, the year looks pretty much over for me (not a big FPS fan and I'm tired of the cookie cutter RTS games (RA3)).

If I had a 360, or better GPU, I would be excited about Fallout 3 and Fable 2, but I don't, so the only game I'm waiting to play is Persona 4.

on Oct 31, 2008

Well I *was* eagerly looking forward to Red Alert 3, until EA announced it was shipping with SecuROM and a 5-install limit.  So now I'm never getting it.

As it is, the only new game I'm likely to pick up in the next 6 months is Empire Total War.  And even that one I'm still iffy on....

Just played the Mirror's Edge demo...It's brilliant. I cannot wait for this game to be released. If you have Live, download this demo right now. It's fun, exhilirating, relatively realistic as far as the moves that are done. (I know, I do them in real life.)

I'm looking foward to Mirror's Edge and Prince of Persia (both for PC).  I was planning to get RA3 but the beta wasn't that great and I hate EA's marketing methods. The DRM doesn't bother me much.

Definately Fallout 3
